At the tender age of 67 I have found that many of the youngsters have not learned "how" to listen. "Youngsters" are in the under 30 crowd. If they have managed to stick with archery, wheels or traditional they begin to listen around 40. There is a totaly different mind set in the generation behind us. They have grown up in a time of plenty. That is untill the last couple of years.
Our job is to continue to be ready to speak.
I am reminded of the Chinese proverb, "When the student is ready the teacher will appear."
