Anyone have an update on the rut in eastern New York State, north of Brewster?

I'm off to that area next week for a venison party and jsut wondering what to expect?  Any local boots on the ground?

Hey Mike, I am in Greene county. Not enough time in the woods for me, but driving to, from and for work I have been seeing some neck swelled bucks harassing the does. I think you are timing it well.

It now just kicking in with the bucks in the chase and the does still saying no now.... Over the weekend we saw several does being chased by bucks...this week should be a hot one with the temp now in normal range and not hot and it seems the weather will be sunny with high in the 40's till late in the week with some rain showers coming in...
you should see how I use to shoot

Been hunting on the other side of the river (new paltz), and they were starting last weekend and continued this past one.  This whole week should be really happening.  Hopefully be over in rhinecliff this weekend.

Good luck

Good timing Mike...was out on Sunday in Rockland County...the boys are starting to chase...saw a spike and a nice 8 hot on the trail of a few does that went through...couldn't get a shot but it was defintiely encouraging...good luck

Reports from the locals say bucks have been in high gear. Hunting action should be good!
