A very similar thing happened with me and a hunting partner last Friday.
He was busy concentrating on the mulies in front of him and totally missed seeing the one that I pushed out to the open trail he was standing on.
Course he would likely have shot his truck with a miss or pass through.
He took a shot at one in the bush with his very fast compound and learned that very fast deflects off saplings just like very slow does.
We have mule deer in our yard where I live too. Thought about shooting one more than once.
I was down a Dennis's place yesterday and Ben fletched a couple of arrows for my compound with pretty pink shield cuts. The compound is just for a back up in case I need to follow up on one that has been hit poorly. Nice to be able to take a longer shot in those circumstances. Oh and the fact that I really want to shoot a goose with a bow. Gonna try some dullish 160 grain Thunderheads for that.
