Ron,
I just heard our Adirondack buddy is not coming with you- let's fill that slot, OK?
Cody has wisdom well beyond his fourteen years.
On Friday evening he and I were cruising down a woods road and had a 250-ish boar come out of his bedding area and move up the road ahead of us.
He turned off into some big woods, and we let him be- knowing he'd do the same thing the next day if undisturbed I recommended we pull a stand and set it right where he entered the woods to hunt him the next evening.
Cody sat there Saturday- I watched from the vehicle at the other end of the road and sure enough, out our large dark friend emerged from teh same area but instead of going up the road, he went straight across, turned right, and went right at Cody through the edge of the woods.
Cody said it sounded like someone in there with a springy rake moving leaves around- only they were grunting while they did it! Because he was feeding, he took too much time getting to Cody and when he did, it was too dark. Cody saw him, but couldn't pick a spot and let him walk!!! What a sharp bowhunter he is at 14! I'm proud of him and I know his Dad is too.
