WELL, I'M LOOKING TO BUY MY FIRST TRAD. BOW. I HAVE FOUND 3 BOW I'M INTERESTED IN FOR THE MONEY I GOT TO SPEND. 1. BEN PEARSON KM. 2. BROWNING NOMAD. 3. BEAR ALASKAN. THERE ALL BETWEEN 40- 45 LBS. OUT OF THESE BOWS WICH ONE WOULD YOU CHOOSE. HAS ANYONE EVER SHOT THE OLD BEAR ALASKAN?

Have you been able to shoot any of the bows listed?
If so I'd go with whichever felt the best.
I haven't shot any of the above bows.
It looks like you are most likely looking at the right weight range.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

To try and answer your question, the Pearson's and Browning's are generally good bows, depends some on the model though. I've had all 3 at one time or the other. I'm fond of the alaskan, just because of the double shelf. Bit touchy about arrow spine because it's far from center cut.

Your draw length should be considered. You have quite a range of bow lengths you mentioned. Good rule of thumb is to have a bow no less than twice your draw length. There are a MILLION exceptions to this, but its a good starting point to consider. Dont use your compound draw length or any formula therein, get an accurate draw measurement and go from there, have fun!

asking opinions about "what bow is best" is like asking what ice cream flavor is "best".
without trying before buying, yer in for a crap shoot - feeling lucky?
this is one reason why the bow classifieds are chock full of new ads every day.

Does me good to see a first timer going used.A lot of good 2nd handers out there.Never shot either of those models myself.I know it's hard but go as slow as possible and try a few of comparable length and weight.Good luck and shoot often.
