Wool Color?
« on: December 01, 2010, 06:34:00 PM »
I saw a nice wool jacket at a Goodwill store. The jacket is red/black plaid. Can I dye the jacket easily or leave an get away with the color? I passed to get information first, really nice jacket water proof. Nice price too. Thanks.

One of the best things I have ever bought is a ASAT leafy suit.  I can buy and wear almost any color underneath it and still feel camo'ed up.  Camo for the most part is for the hunter in my opinion, the animals see movement not so much the color, unless it is really a bright contrast.
If the price is right, buy that jacket!

Any color under a leafy suit and your good to go! Can't beat wool,,,,,and if it's cheap even better.

Thanks guys! I went back tonight before they closed an got the jacket. Paid $15, like the idea of a leafy suit. Then I can also just wear as a everyday nock around coat.

you won't need to wear anything over the jacket, its the movement that they see. red and black is very good camo

Deer ignore red/black plaid as much as any other as long as you watch your movement.

Woolrich has been making red and black wool huntign coats for over 100 years. Lots of deer got killed within 30 yards or less by hunters wearing it.
