Silent Shooting - Measured Sound (dBA)

I am brushing up on things as I get ready to buy a new bow and want to make mine as silent as possible.  After reading about the "Bow Hush" and puppies I may just go that route and forget the experimentation.

Regardless, I have a sound pressure meter and I want to use it to measure my bow's "silent performance" from an animals vantage point in front of the bow.  

Has anyone used a sound pressure meter to help in their quest to silence their bow? Obviously there are different frequencies that game might be more sensitive to and sounds that scare them more...  but I will start with sheer volume (dBA).

The reason this is important to me is that I have been watching some of the videos of trad hunters shooting animals and see the animals hear the shot and react before the arrow even gets there.  Plus its just one of the coolest things about bow-hunting...  the silent aspect of the sport.

Just looking for general thoughts or experience on the subject that is less subjective (measured).

i think measuring with a sound meter would be an objective way of measuring results.  
i use a more subjective way...i tune my bow til it sounds quiet to me (subjective), and i measure the results by "does my arrow hit the spot i was looking at" before the animal has a chance to react.
