Broadhead storage
« on: June 01, 2007, 09:10:00 AM »
I wondered how you guys store your (sharpened) 2-blade broadheads when travelling?
I've seen that some people just duct tape the heads, but I'd prefer to spend more time hunting and less peeling tape bits off shaving sharp broadheads    :knothead:

Cheers, Phil

I stick them in foam, using ONE sharp head to cut the slots, so as not to sacrifice the edges of the other ones.

Great idea Ray! That is how I store them at home but never thought of doing that for a trip.

I either use the tape routine or a hard sided arrow case that keeps them separated, depending upon how much room I have available to me.  With the tape, I tend to keep the ends long past the point.  Then you can grab the end, fold it down and it self cuts / removes from the head.  Not too much involved in peeling after that, just be careful you don't cut yourself.

Wow...that was quick!
Thanks guys
The foam of my bowcase is a little too soft.
I'll try to find some harder foam and post pics...in case I succeed   :D
