first bow??
« on: June 01, 2007, 11:57:00 AM »
HI, New here, Have been shooting compounds for years and thinking of doing a trad bow.First started shooting bows back in the seventies with a green glass long bow. Are the newer Long bows or recurves alot better than the old green horse.I would like to keep some speed up along with some smootheness. What should I be looking at.I was thinking a take down for ease of traveling. ????    Thanks Jim G

Welcome Beanbag  :wavey:
I have 6 or 7 of those greenies along with about 10 others. My favorite is my Sentman Longbow 58# @ 28.

try different bows, thats what I did, I like my takedown recurve, not cause the easy travel, but because the steady weight in the riser

I'm a newer convert from wheels to a Northern Mist longbow...the speed and smoothness will shock you! Like mentioned before handle and shoot a few and you will be hooked!
