Who makes or sells really large size camo?
« on: December 13, 2010, 09:20:00 PM »
Went hunting with my brother tonite and he nearly froze. He's a size 4-5x and can't seem to find anybody who sells any warm tradbow friendly hunting clothes in his size. I figure somebody here might have some suggestions I could pass on. Thanks -Mike

Might try Autumnwood camo.  Very good wool, good camo patterns and high quality construction.  They're in Pennsylvania, I think.  I once had an XL parka that felt bigger than a 2X.  Sold it and bought a jacket in L, and it wears like a very roomy XL.  If they make a 2X in the same line, it will probably be as large as most 4x.

I would try the bush in a bag on that Big Jim has on his site. I would guess that one would be able to bundle up under the camo and be warm.

Groundblind and a little buddy heater.

I don't think I've even seen some of the custom stuff in a 4x, but I'm sure Greywolf Woolens would work with him - cost may be an issue.

You can get some 5x camo at Cabelas. They have Legacy fleece, super slam elite fleece, late season, outfitters wool, and their polartec & thermastat undergarments up to 5X. I know the prices are up there but my friend is a 5x and him and I used to work for them and its good stuff, let me know and i can tell u more about it all. Jerry

Just a suggestion:
This might solve his camo issue in all temperatures. He could wear non-camo cold weather clothes when the temps fall but still use the suit when warmer: They go to 3X but they aren't kidding about "generous cut".

Not being smart But I see a lot of big rap style guys wearing camo. You can probably go to an online store for the big Gangsta Rappers and get a camo set that you can use as an outer shell and just wear warmer clothes under it.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!
