I am always looking for hunting ideas and am wondering if you can give me a few ideas. My biggest problem is that I need to be in school from Sept-June. I do have family (that does not hunt) in Omaha, NE if that helps. Where would you guys look for an out of state hunt for a guy in WI? I do get 10 days off around Christmas that I forgot to mention.

Take a look at some of the early mule deer hunts. Nevada has some fantastic hunting, but might take a year or two of applying to build up points. Well worth it to plan ahead for some great hunting like that.
In the meantime, the antelope and bear suggestions are good. Bear hunting in the last half of June can be excellent as well where there are seasons. And don't forget Texas or other southern states for hogs or javilina.

Alaska is a great place to go during the summer -- July and August. Several elk seasons start the last Sat. of August. Depending upon how soon in Sept. you have to be at school. I like to be antelope hunting around Sept. 8-10 to catch the rut.

I will look into the mule deer hunting in NV and the other hunts. I went to WY last year and had a blast. I hope to get back there soon.

We used to head to the Manti La Sals in eastern Utah for mulies. If I remember correctly, that opens in August, but I haven't been there in a while. Feel free to contact me if you're interested. I'll let you in on whatever my feeble brain can recall!
