Had one do that at one time and was advised by the bowyer to put a little vaseline on the pockets before putting the limbs on.  Worked like a charm.

Cheers,
Joe

String wax works great.

Ditto, I've always used string wax if the problem occurred.

String wax works good in warm to moderate weather, but it can crack loudly in very cold weather.  Scary.  I've always liked thin cork, felt or moleskin between the limb butts and riser limb bases on 3-piece take down bows. Some other plastic like thin sheet materials that I don't know the name of also work.

If you apply a thin coat of Abu Garcia Reel Lube (teflon paste) with a q-tip the popping will likely go away plus it works in any climate and will not cause the riser and limb to stick together like string wax can.

My bow was doing the same thing on our last hunting trip and Tom found that one of the alinement pins was loose. Two drops of super glue and no more noise.

You can purchase compressed cork at any arts and craft store.  It helps.

I am used to shooting 1 piece D bows and bought a 3 piece hybrid that had a pop noise to it. I found out that was just the way the bow sounded. I sold it.   BILL
