Uni-nock Question

Anyone know which Uni-nock has the bigger throat?? I shoot dacron strings and most of the uni-nocks are just way too tight. The Easton site only shows the pretty colors and not throat sizes. I have been getting more deals on aluminums with the uni-system even though I like the glue ons better...Thanks!

I'll be watching this!  I too use larger strings (the Jack Howard string) and I don't like the Easton uni-nocks on it. Sure there are lots of ways to stretch a nock (hot water, whittling it etc) but I don't like it.

ALTERNATIVELY (If you don't mind another question) - DOES ANYONE KNOW OF a nock adaptor to fit into the uni-nock hole that would allow use of a regular glue-on nock.  IF there were such a thing I'd pull all the uni-nocks and throw them as far as I can - then glue on the good "old fashined" snap-ons.

I used to put the Easton ACC adapters on the other arrows and use the ACC nocks.  They are just about the perfect nock.  The only other nocks I really like for carbon or aluminum are the Beiter 19/2 nocks.   You might give them a look.

I would love a glue on nock adapter for the uni- too. I have looked at the glue on/in adapters that 3 rivers and kustem king both have for 5/16 carbons. I am quessing that they might fit inside a uni-bushing and could be epoxied in. Has anyone tried it yet?

Gordon used to offer the Glasshaft with an adapter for using regular nocks. It was alum.

Only ones I have are for the dozen of the I-60 shafts I still have.

ABS Grizzly sticks used to come with an alum. nock insert that took regular nocks, too.

Thing is making them for so many I.D. Shafts I guess.

Be interesting to watch to see if anyone reports of a commercial enterpise making the glue in nock adapter for regular glue on nocks.

That's the point - they wouldn't have to be made for a wide range of shaft ID's if they were made to fit the uni-nock system (hence the term "uni-nock")  

Alternatively, like HH suggests - maybe the 5/16 fits?  what is the diameter of the hole in the uni-nock system?

Maybe fold some sandpaper and insert into nock and sand until you get the perfect fit?

Never cared for the Nock fit with the eastons nocks. Gold Tip .246's will work, it's also a pretty common carbon nock so other brands are available.

The nocks I prefer on the uni-bushing system are Easton 3D Super nocks,the have the largest and deepest throat of the push-in nocks.These are different from regular Easton Super nocks.

Thanks JRY, thats what I was looking for. I shoot 3 under so I want some snap/grip on the nock and my arrows are tuned with Bohning classics. Sanding removes the snapgrip and heating and pinching gives too much varience and I will be using the uni-nocks with heavier bows and dont want to weaken them.....Still may order some 5/16 nock adapters to try next time I place an order.

Just wanted to bring this back up for the guys that were interested.....

I took JRY's suggestion and bought a dozen Easton 3D supernocks.  They just came in today and they are the ticket for what I wanted.  They have a nice snap fit and are just a bit looser (but not much) than the Bjorn type snap-ons I use.

These will work perfect....THANKS JRY309!

As long as the nock fits inside the hole of the uninock bushing........any nock will work.
I've interchanged carbon express and gold tip nocks with easton uninocks as long as they fit in the hole on the uninock bushing.......it doesn't matter.
Take your uninock bushing to a local shop and ask him to let you try several different nocks and see what works. Find some that you like how they fit on your string and there ya go!
