Bitzenburger Adjustments for Fletching
« on: June 01, 2007, 05:30:00 PM »
I have had my Jig for almost 30 Years, and have never had to make an adjustment...

I'm now going to Carbons, and the clamp doesn't seem to be lining up as well as on my larger diameter shafts??

Anyone have instructions for this Jig or Tips??

Thank you,

  :banghead:

Probably going to have to take some of the offset or helical out of the clamp adjustment because of the narrower diameter shaft.  Put an arrow in the jig, loosen the adjustment screws and put the clamp on the jig.  Move it around so it rides on the arrow nicely, i.e., flush its entire length.  Then just tighten the adjustment screws.  May want to move it around a little before you tighten the adjustment screws to get as much helical in it as you can and still make good contact with the shaft the entire length of the clamp, or at least the length of the feather you will put in the clamp.  Good luck.

just remember, move the adjustment wheels opposite each other or you will just be aligning the fletch "off axis" of the arrow centerline.  Don't ask me how I know this......

Gator, If you still need help go to bitzenberger.com, get the phone number and give them a call. They are very helpful and will take the time to explain the set up to you. They will also mail you the instructions but the verbal explanation is much better.
