Well my son (Tucker 9yo) and I where looking at some of Ron La Clair's videos on the YT and it made a lasting impression on him. He was amazed at how Ron could shoot aerials and fish. Now he wants to shoot all the time. When he listened to Ron telling the Armstrong Creek story his eyes never came off the screen, he was amazed. Then the pic of Ron in the canoe with the buck made him ask "can we do that". But When he saw Ron sing He said " and that dude sings too".He has not stopped talking about how Ron shoots.

Well this all got me thinking that I am going to take him out back tonight and light a fire and we will fling some arrows by fire light (totally safe of course). He has been shooting for a few years now but something just clicked all of a sudden and it's now a driving force within him.

He is an amazing little guy who has the persistence and determination to try and master all that he does. He turns 10 in February and he can get his hunting license and he is very excited.

I am looking forward to having some grand adventures with him in the future(maybe even a buck in a canoe)I have to thank Ron for letting him see how much fun this is, and what a true adventure it can be.

PS. I doubt I will be writing poems and singing, but I will work on the mountain man look.

Ron is an inspiration-although I have not had the pleasure of meeting him personally.
Archery and bowhunting have been a wonderful glue for my son and me, we started shooting arrows together when he was about nine, and have been doing it almost daily ever since. Adam is seventeen now, and often out scores the old man at 3D.
Made some great friends along the way on hunting trips too-the PBS Youth Hunt in 2009 was the highlight-what an amazing time.

Thanks for a great father/son moment. And a future that has many precious moments and memories for both.

Tim it sounds like you've got yourself a real huntin man there. If you ever get to Michigan to either the Traditional Expo or the Compton Rendezvous I'd like to meet Tucker and shake his hand.

Pm me your address and the date of Tuckers birthday in February.

Well the fire side shoot was a blast and we had a great time this is a pic of Tucker and it was a little hard to get a good photo with the fire casting a light. The bow is an old fiberglass one I got from Mudd a while back.

Sounds like you are in for a great ride.
