Florida in April??
« on: December 31, 2010, 12:36:00 AM »
Hey Guys,
I am taking the family to Disney in April and we plan on spending an extra 4 days in Clearwater or somewhere around a beach and I am wondering if there is anything to hunt or any recommended fishing that I could look into. Any help will be much appreciated!
 Thanks< Jamie

I don't know anything about hunting in Florida but since it is in Florida, there has got to be some great fishing close by.

Plenty of reasonable hog bunting outfitters around. Google em up- turkey season too usually ending in south zone then and in full swing in central zone. Pleasant time of year. Enjoy.

find you some private property and you don't even have to buy a license to hunt hogs in Florida. Lots of farmers want hogs killed.

Florida is a great place to hunt hogs, and if you can work it in with your family trip that would be perfect!  The swamps and forests are like nothing you have hunted before and adds a whole new dimension to your hunt.

At  www.myfwc.com  you can download the regulation booklet and buy a liscence. In the central zone turkey season will be on if you want to chase an osceola.

Hey Jamie, if you're willing to make the drive over to Okeechobee I can set you up with some bass fishing.

Jamie,
Shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can do. I'm usually guiding for turkeys until the first weekend in April, but I don't know what's going on this year. I'll be glad to take you for turkeys or hogs depending on your schedule.

Plenty of places to hunt hogs year round. Google hog hunting in Florida to find outfitters in the Clearwater area. Salt water fishing is great that time of year, either inshore or offshore. Bass fishing is good in April and bluegill and shellcrackers are on the beds. Hard to get a Turkey hunt we have gone to a quota system for most public land Turkey hunts but there are some walk in areas in the state that you could turkey hunt check the FWC website to find these. If your going to hunt hogs or turkeys bring snake boots and a therma cell!! I hope you and your family have a great visit here.
Hunt hard,but have fun!
