help with arrow set up for new bow

Mike Treadway just finished up my black swamp bow that I ordered from him, it is 60" long and 52#@28. I ordered some Arrow Dynamics Tradlite shafts. I was planning to fletch with four 4" parobolic feathers with 200 grain point weight. Is this a good starting point? Should I leave the shaft full length or cut it to 30"? My draw length is 28". Thanks for your help, this is the first time I've fooled with carbon arrows and would like the opinions of others with more experiance than me.

Not sure about the Black Swamp,  but my Black Forest really likes Carbon Express 150's cut to 29.5 with 175/200 up front.

Im no expert but common sence says to trim your shaft slowly, and test with the points/broadheads you will be using etc...

Four fletch may be more than ya need.  I shoot Trad lites at 29.5" with my true 28" draw.  My shafts weigh 331gn without feathers or paint.  My BH setup is a total of 176 gns. and I use the AD alum insert.  

I three fletch with 5-5.75" shield fletch.  This arrow shoots like a laser out of my Widow PL X 51# @ 28". All together I get between 9.6 and 9.9 gns/lb of draw.  I can also add the 100 gn brass insert and they still fly great and have woooo FOC.

These arrows have proven themselves on deer, hogs and turkey.  I would add the 100 grn brass insert if I was going to be hunting moose or elk.

I have tried the Hammer Head Lites and found them to shoot well also.

You should find the AD's generally easier to tune to your bow than some other shafts MHO...

All that being said, I have considered trying 4 x 4" or even 4 x 3" just for grins.

What Huntschool said. The AD are WAY easier to tune and forgive a wide range of draw lengths, weights and offsets.

Oh, and they are darned near indestructible.

just curious as ive never tried the AD,  but what makes them easier to tune??

They are a rear tapered shaft which seems to have a bunch of "forgiveness" built in.  I can shoot the same shafts out of bows from 45-50+ lbs and get the same great flight.

I have been shooting them for some time now and they just work great.  I started out shooting the Nitro Stingers (yellow letering) that show a deflection of 350. They show a shaft weight of 6.7 gn/inch which seems light but allows you to load front end.  The new Trad lites also show a .350 deflection but weigh 331 gns cut to 29.5 for my draw length.  The spine ranges seem to be right on as far as numbers compared to performance.

Not yet. He had it ready for me several days ago, but I have had to work and couldn't pick it up. Going tomorrow to get it. He is only a 25 min. drive from here, so maybe I can get some pictures tomorrow.
