deer cam photo
« on: January 03, 2011, 08:47:00 PM »
Caught this one behind the house in 5 acre patch of woods in middle of nowhere. It's surrounded  by fields. Only caught him twice and always well after dark. Just wanted to share. Second photo is from neighbors and in velvet. September this year.
Thanks,
Bob

Yowza!  Is that a 3rd main beam or drop tine or what by his right ear?

Thats a nice one.  I know of a guy in Illinois who ONLY hunts 5 acre woodlots or less that are surrounded by open fields after the gun seasons.  His theory is that the bucks hang in these places because they are normally overlooked by most hunters, and they know it.  He has killed some big bucks doing so.  I've always been intriuged by the idea, but have never been able to figure out a good way to get into and out of these spots without alerting the buck inside.  Good luck with him!
