Thanks for the warm welcome.
Mudd, FightingCelt - Thanks. Specifically directed appreciation is sort of embarrassing for me, I don't view my Navy service as anything other than a normal "passing through life" option. In my view I suffered little and gained much during that passing and owe the citizens of this fine country my gratitude for allowing me to do so.
As for the Medic/Corpsman thing, it was different than most military jobs I guess. The tasks for me were simple, keep them safe and alive. Most of my immediate/critical problems were directed toward one individual, I didn't have to worry about maintaining a perimeter, driving a ship or carrying a fight... I viewed it as assess then simply focus on one problem at a time and fix it while knowing those around me would do their job.
Stinger - I'll search for this Baltimore shoot and figure to attend in some fashion. Spring is good hog hunting time in Texas and I might head down there for a while.
Legends1 - I travel around the country a good bit (pickup truck) and might just one day be in your neck of the woods. I could make a swing over to Pickle Meadows and bother the Marines during their mountain training. Maybe get a fine meal of rabbit at the chow hall.
Thanks again to all for the hearty welcome.
