How do I know what size serving I should use with b-50 string? I am new at this string making.

Depends on your nock type and how many strands are in your string.

With 14 strands of B-50/B-500/B-55...I'd use .019 Halo or .018 Braided 62XS.
With 12 strands I'd use .021 Halo or .021 Braided 62XS.
With 16 strands...I'd go with .019 or the .018 listed above. (I'd use .017 Halo if it were me...but I can always redo the serving when it wears out before the string does).
Granted depends on the arrow nocks and how tight/loose you want the fit.

Like someone said, depends on the number of strands, type of material, etc.
Worst case scenario, go with a smaller size serving like .018 62XS and use dental floss at the nock point for a custom fit. A few wraps will get you there. Once you get the fit you like, a dab of super glue will keep it there. That's a "trick" Rod Jenkins told me about, and uses.
