A few years back I drove into the woods to drop my friend off as usual, he gets out of the truck and gets his stuff comes back to the window and says I'll see you later, I ask do you have everything he says yes and starts to head off. I wait for him to leave and then pull out, but as I straighten out I see his headlamp light coming back towards me. I stop and he walks over to the drives side window and says do you see my bow in the back seat ? A strange feeling comes over me and you guessed it, he put his bow down on the GROUND and I ran over it when I back up to turn around, luckily it was just a wheeler and not a Trad bow.   :knothead:

One day last year after driving an hour to my hunting area I discovered that I had forgotted my alpha burlys at home so I had to hunt all day in my merrel slip on mocs. It was about 30 out with intermintent freezing rain/sleet. I was dressing in wool so I was toasty warm except for my feet. By the end of the day I thought I was going to loose some toes! It makes you really love a good pair of warm boots....and triple check to see if you have evrything.
Bowhunting is "KILL and EAT" not "Catch and Release".....Semper Fi!

When much younger I met a friend at the harbor to go in his skiff on a camping/hunting trip. We got about two hours out of town in the boat when we discovered we had forgot the food box. We did have a couple of cases of beer and a frying pan, the essentials.
So we just made camp and quickly took the first little buck we saw for a camp deer. Hung him up and started cutting off steaks as needed for the fry pan. We would boil down some ocean water in the skillet first for a little salt to season. One of the best trips we ever had.

There is nothing that make me madder than having a stupid moment. We all have then and that is what makes up human.

Yes A run in with the brier monster will cost you some blood.Years ago I was walking out and took a branch to the eye (had the light on the ground)and it ripped my contact,it was a fun ride home looking like Rooster Cogburn...LOL

A friend of mine field dressed a buck with a broadhead.  He forgot a knife.

IpJ, Glad you & these honest folks admit. For me, boots, bows, arrows, & lights to name a few. For the past 20 yearsI have a checklist. Yesterday, I drove to my neighbor's house & back only to find I left my LB on top of the truck the whole way. Good news I guess is, I'm 60 & still excited when I get my bow in my hand.

20 years ago i spent 4 mounths in a full lenght cast on my leg...got a walking cast the week befor bow season opened...a friend and i were chasing elk here in north idaho and just happened to have a hot bull just down the ridge from us on our way out one night at dark...we never carried flash lights for some reason...we desided to go around the bull and leave him till morning...so off the side of the ridge we went down into a draw full of brush and blowdowns...with me in a walking cast and no flashlight it took us quite a while to cover the last 3/4 mile but we did it just fine...no the bull wasnt there the next morning but i had to go back to find what i obviously lost (my mind)...been carrying a flash light every sence.
