Slightly bent arrows

I have a bunch of slightly bent aluminum arrows. Besides being maybe a little inaccurate, would you use them for flu-flu's? The way I shoot, the inaccuracy may improve my shooting. lol. None are cracked or wickedly bent.

You could.  If you can find an arrow straightener that would be ideal, but there getting harder to find.  Another way is to use the same technique that's used to straighten wooden arrows.  Sight down the shaft to find the bend, then use the heel of your hand to pressure them straight again.  This usually is good enough for flu-flu's and stump shooters.

I would never shoot an arrow that I didn't think would go where I was looking for any reason.  I don't like having 'bad' arrows in my quiver, shop, or house.  I never want a miss from such an arrow, or the confusion if it was the arrow or me.

Not to mention that a damaged arrow could cause bodily harm.

One other method I have used on my son's arrows was to find a piece of arrow ( about 8-10")that will fit snug over the one you want to straighten. Heat the bent arrow in the area of the bend,and wearing a leather work glove for safety slide the bent arrow through the bigger arrow section and tap or pull it through.It will take a lot out of the bent arrow.

Without spinning them, most of them wouldn't even show a bend. I've discarded the really distorted ones.
All of them were 2216's from my c-bow days. I stripped off the vanes and got them ready for feathers.

If a slight bend at the tip, no problem for most folks...including me, especially for flu flus, stumping, roving, and even 3-D.  I like a good straight arrow for hunting.

If bent in the feather/nock area, time to recycle.

I agree with Terry. If there's a wobble when spun I'll straighten it more. I shoot wood though. Wouldn't trust a damaged aluminum or carbon shaft.

i use a grayling straightener on my cedar and sitka arrows, and i check 'um constantly. i'm not sure if you can use it on aluminum, tho.

If there bent straighten them,theres no comprimise.Slightly bent is like a little bit pregnant.

I can usually hand straighten most of my slightly bent to shoot with the unbent ones. After shooting several types of wood arrows for years, "straight" is a relitive term. Now on my hunting arrows, I make them up with broadheads, shoot them a few times to check they fly right,then they only get shot at critters and never see a fieldpoint. I never worry about them being sraight.

i break and throw away any and all "arrows with issues".

well. i thought you wanted to do fluflus. flu flus are for havin a blast. it aint gonna hunrt if there slightly bent. just fletch em up and go shootin.

Save them in a junk arrow box and reuse straight pieces for footing on other arrows....
