A 3D target of his favorite animal would be nice but, could get pretty expensive. I got my son a family membership to our local archery club. We try to get out there at least a couple times a week. We both love it. He'll be loving it even more once his Maddog pup longbow arrives!
7 “But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you;
8 or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you.
9 Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this?
10 In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.

My kids love to watch Tembo the movie (Howard Hill) with all the African animals and it has a cool narration.Get him some flu flu's or get some Styrofoam and he can draw animals and you cut them out for him to shoot, buy stuffed animals thatlook like what you hunt.get him some plain arrows and paint so he can make his own arrows.BUCKSKINS it would be the cheapest pair you could buy due to the size.

5 years old is a bit young for him to be able to appreciate many good things as listed above.

He may appreciate camo though.  You can find it most anywhere...  Little guys like to be like their daddy...Cool

My son loved his camo baseball cap...even tried to wear it to bed.

Take him to a shoot or a range with real hunting set ups on his day. The best thing is to spend time with him as I am sure he looks up to you and that is what he really wants.

Traditional things to put in room so he is around them all the time. Framed prints(pics of  your adventures/outings), framed knapped points, fur is cool(deer hide rug), place to hang his bow the list goes on. Of coarse I probably covered his 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th birthdays. Should be a nice "Man" room someday!!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways-BOW in one hand-ARROWS in the other-Body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming-WOO HOO! WHAT A RIDE!
