Eclipse broadheads are well respected.

When pursueing turkeys, for me, a set-up that produces quick immobilization on less than perfect hits is key to routinely harvest birds.

My suggestion and what I live by, is to go with the largest BH possible that will tune with your set-up and still impart excellent penetration.

Any BH put in the right place will down a bird quickly.  The small dixie cup size target is moving, can reverse on a dime, unpredictable and sometimes hidden by the turkeys different postures then coupled with my own adrenaline and sometimes inept skills & adrenaline requires further scrutiny of my set-up. My intention is to significantly increase the odds.

Turkeys should not be underestimated.

Eclipse heads are great broadheads and do a very good job.

That being said I use Snuffers for turkeys they work well.

I use the same heads for elk as I do turkey or what ever else I'm hunting and that is 145 grain Eclipse Broadheads.

Kill zones on Turkeys are small I like the biggest broadhead I can shoot accuratly.  I love the eclipse heade but would shoot the 4 blade for Turkeys

I been using the Eclipse 145 with bleeeders, that makes a four blade, for all my hunting.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

A good broadhead is a good broadhead, and the Eclipses are fantastic.  I'd say shoot em.  Might want to go with the 4 blade, but if you put it in the right spot, they'll do the job just fine.

My recommendation is there are significantly much better options available than to shoot 1 3/16" wide BH.

You can loose a turkey with a two blade broadhead that you'd kill if you used a 3 blade.  A two blade passing near the spine or neck has (I'm guessing) about a 25% chance on the blades being parellel to the spine.  Using a 3 blade on the same shot you have a dead bird where he stands.

Furthermore Eclips 1 1/8 inch wide.  160 gr. Snuffer 1 1/2 inch wide.  Pretty easy choice.

Like Jesse said I use the 145's from elk to turkey,& have killed 2 turkeys w/ them. Just keep them sharp and put them where they need to go.

I missed a shot at 9 feet at a large tom last season with an eclipse, but I did shoot a hog with the 125 gr. eclipse, 47# bow, hard quartering penetrated to the shoulder, full lenght of the arrow. solid head. they sharpen well, easier than zwickeys

Any broadhead will work as long as you shoot in the right spot.

I started actually killing them when I started waiting for a back side shot. I like right between the wings, but anywhere from the bung hole up to just above the humerous bone joints should work.
