arrow suggestions

Hi all, i just reciever a new to me morrison cheyenne, it is 56 inches long and 47 lbs at 27 draw, i draw 27 1/2 inches, just wondering what would be a good arrow to start with spine wise, thanks for any help.

I just started to mess around with some gold Tip 1535's for my long bow, I have 4"straight parabolic feathers, 100gr. brass insert and a 140 gr. field tip. They are flying very well but I might try a 50 gr. brass insert and see what happens. They do fly very straight when I do my part.

fly true,low cost. also shoot them out of my
higher poundage set-up. same story. they are
30" long with .125 up frt. If you looking for

Best bet would be to order a "try assortment" of arrows in 5# increments.  Otherwise, for your set up as described, I would start at a 60-65# spine, though 55-60# might be good.  Usually, recurves forgive a bit of overspine.  Start a little long and cut them back for a perfect match.

I have a 45 pound Buffalo and have had good luck with 30 inch .400 spine easton fmjs with brass inserts and 125 gr heads. I draw 29 inches. Very durable as well.

thanks for the replies guys, i plan on shooting carbon arrows and was thinking of the gold tip traditionals, from what i read here most are shooting a 400 spine with the weight loaded up front, i have some gold tip 5575 so i will just need to get some 100 grain inserts and start from there, the guy i got the bow from said the bow liked a heavier spined arrow.

I shoot Beman MFX Classic 400's and 500's with brass inserts from 47 to 57 lb. bows. Either of these would probably work great for you. Very tough and small diameter as well.

I have a cheyenne also with 52@28 recurve limbs and shoot mfx classic 400 shafts at 31" long with 200gr up front with great results and also have 43@28 carbon/foam lb limbs for it shooting gt 3555 cut at 30" long with 200gr tips and they fly like darts also. I draw 28" so hope this helps

went out thismorning with some 2018 to see if they would spine right for my bow, morrison cheyenne recurve 47 lbs at 27 and i draw 27 1/2, shot 3 fletched shafts and 3 bare shafts and all the shafts were in a baseball size group, i had a 125 grain point and 30 grains extra screwed to the back of the insert, being my bow seems to like a heavier spine i'am assuming i can get the gold tip 5575 shafts and with more weight up front get them to spine good for my bow. the 2018 are cut to 29.

Douglas Fir, 60-64, stiffer if you want to shoot a 29" arrow or point heavier than 125 gr.

I shoot a 47@28 static recurve and shoot both 1535's and 3555's. My 1535's are 30" with 50 grain inserts and 145 grain heads. My 3555's are 30" with 100 grain heads and 145 grain heads. Both set ups seem to fly pretty well out of my bow. But like most others have told me you won't know till you try. Good luck and have fun.

I shoot these from a 45# longbow.  Probably need to be shortened  a tad for a recurve.
2016--29"/ 200gr point
1816--28"/ 145 gr point

In my old 50# predator recurve I liked 2018 @ 28"/ 145 gr point.  Alex
