3 Rivers arrow block tapering tool
« on: June 07, 2007, 12:09:00 PM »
Does anyone have the three rivers arrow tapering tool?  I have ordered one and want the deminisions so I can make a accessory plate for my grinder before the tool gets here.  I have asked 3 rivers for this information and they never responded.  If not I will just have to wait until the tool arrives to work out my work rest for it..thanks...chuck

I have one and will try to remember to measure it for you when I get home.  Post pics of your jig when you get it made.  I have just been clamping it to the table and eye balling how much to grind off.

Has anyone used this tool with a belt or disc sander?  I too would like to see some pics of this tool used, or pics of your homemade tapering tools.  I've got my first batch of woodies on the way and will need something soon.

Well, I have my work rest made for the Taper Block to go onto.  It would be so easy if you had a trued disk like on some of the belt/disk sanders.  Mine just wobbled so bad that I was trying to made my belt sander work.  The main problem that I am having is since I only have two inches of belt to play with I have to move the arrow block on the rest to make it work.  When all the adjustments are made I will tap the work rest.
