Very excellent choice in a Thunderhorn for your first "real" bow.
Duane does a superb job
It sounds like you are doing a great job on your end of the shooting as well.
Welcome to the enjoyable journey.

I got my "Heart Stopper in Nov 2000. Duane makes a fine bow.
Mine is 56 lbs.@28",60"(ntn),stippled grip.
It's fine shooting bow that is also quick.
It's one of my oldest "keeper" bows.

I believe you will really enjoy your Heart Stopper. Congra's

I did the same thing. Each time I wanted a new bow I sold a gun to pay for it. When I ran out of guns I had to start saving up and begging the wife.

I got my Coup Stick several years ago and was just like you. I had to shoot it every day and drew it back all the time before and after work. I even told my wife it better be beside me when she closes the lid on me!

I've had lots of bows before and since I got that bow but I can always shoot it well every time I pick it up. It is "The One".

Good luck.

The guy that traded with me was a Police Officer. Super nice guy.

He said that he loves the bow, but has been practicing and practicing and just couldn't get a 'handle' on shooting a longbow. Said he could hit the target but could never get good groups consistently which was extremely frustrating.

Told me that other guys would pick the bow up and stack arrows on top of one another, but for whatever reason he was never able to. He is switching over to a bow with sights to try and overcome this issue.

The inability to group well isn't the bow's fault, or a mechanical equipment failure on the part of the bow, because I have been able to group it consistenly. Mind you I am only shooting at 10-15 yards, so this is no fantastic feat by any means.   ;)

Either way, I am very fortunate that he was willing to trade.

Let me add that the rifle was a Rem 700 XCR in .270. It was in perfect condition and sells for around $900 new. Cabela's only wanted to offer me about 40% of it's value so this worked out MUCHH better.

I have one that looks very similar.  They are super nice bows and the craftsmanship is unreal.
