Hey there!
what you been up to?
I was talking to some guys who was wanting to get a bowfishing boat as well and they elected that a pontoon boat would be great. Not a HUGE one but a decent sized one. Lots of deck, lots of room, should be stable too...... just my, well, their 2 cents. I went bowfishing today, the fish weren't in the weeds much today, missed several though. Shot over every one. Hard habit to get into is aiming REAL low of what you think you should. Sure is fun though. Have a good one, HH

I use a semi v aluminum boat that is 20ft long with a 8ft beam, it drafts very little water and is very stable. 3 can stand side by side on the deck and 1 run the motor and 2 shoot. It is a River trail delta marsh and I couldnt be happier, it has a Yamaha 115 4 stroke on it and burns no fuel. I use it for fishin, bowfishin, hog hunting  and duck hunting. you can park a 4wheeler on the deck and add 5dogs and 4 people.

Some of the older fiberglass boats in the 16 foot range make great bowfishing boats. they are very stable and it's easy to add a deck etc.
Some of these old boat motor combos run good but go for a cheap price.

"something that does not rock too much"

Kinda takes all the fun out of it LOL (and limits your "excuses" for missing.....)

I use an 11 foot jon-boat with an electric trolling motor

Walt Francis and I did well in this little rig last week. Very stable although deck space is pretty limited. Next on the want list is a small 12v troller. While the oars work well it'd be a bunch easier to cruise the bank for those shoalers.

Yep Walt we got proof you can aim low enough to hit a cruisin carp    :D

16` GTO air boat, powered by a 500hp GM350, 4 bow mounted 120v halogen run of a portable generator. Seatin` for 5 and a big grin.......as you can tell the minimalist approach all the way. Oh an it don`t rock at all running thru cow pastures.( we ain`t got no water in Florida)   :bigsmyl:

As you can see, Doug managed to get a few.  I think he got ten to twenty for each one I got.  Wish I could say it was the boats fault but it was extremely stable: I just can’t make myself aim low.  :saywhat:

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Here is my rig,in the pic it's decked out for duck season.I am still working on the raised platform, but the front deck will shoot 2 guys easy.16x48,we usually run 6x500watt halos, but I just got me 2 new 400 watt hps lights, which is about twice the light as the 6-500's  :D
