A few pics from the UBM banquet
« on: February 06, 2011, 09:43:00 AM »
A surprise snowstorm kept a a lot of people from attending this years dinner, but it was still a great time. Due to an accident on the highway I had to sit in traffic for an hour and a half and ended up missing Mike Yancey from Pine Hollow Longbows give the second part of his osage seminiar. When I finally got there though, I was able to catch up with some familiar faces and meet a few new people too. I shot some bows, shot the bull, bought a few goodies for the bow shop, and won a few items in the silent auction. Just wanted to say thanks to all those who put this event on, share a few pics with everyone, and say, "See you all at the shoot this summer."

I finally got to meet KennyM from the bowyers bench. Good luck on you upcoming surgery. Kenny donated the awesome longbow for the Live auction.

H8noncubs is checking out some of the items that Mike and Brenda Horton from The Knocking Point brought.

A picture of Macbow working the table at the silent auction.

Kerryb's son Keegan proudly showing off his copperhead skinned osage bow. (More pics in the Bowyers Bench).

And last but not least, you can't have an event in Missouri and not have the great people from Black Widow bows there. They always show theit support for the UMB by donation a raffle with the winner getting a brand new Widow built just for them. I shoulda bought some tickets  :banghead:

Great to meet you Dave!!

We had a good time visiting with folks, several TG ers there, and bought some stuff from the always helpful vendors.

The Nocking Point , Pine Hollow Longbows, and I think JM Traditions? were therealong with Widow and several others.

I didn't get to stay for the whole thing, anybody know what the bow I gave brought?
Stay sharp, Kenny.

As always it was great to see some of the old friends too... I'll let you slide in with that group even though you're not that old Dave...lol

GB where the heck did you disappear to man?

I owe you 6 bucks and I looked everywhere for you to give you what was/is owed.

I thought your stuff was still in the trade room so I was fairly certain you hadn't left.

I had to leave and came back later, you still were no where to be seen.

Brad I can honestly say that it always warms my heart when I run into you.

God bless,Mudd

PS: GB does your post mean that you got your computer back or are you posting from somewhere else?

Next year we should set a time to have a Trad Gang get together at the banquet. Everyone looks different when in their street cloths.

Good idea Bob, maybe we could wear name tags with our TG handles on them too. I got there late cause of the snow and alot of people had filtered out and about.

The pleasure was mine Brian.

You guys are way behind the curve on wearing your Trad name on your tag.

I've always used my handle so folks wouldn't think I was trying to hide...lol Like I could!!...lol

Sounds like everyone had a good time, I missed the Festival this year. I had planned on bringing my broadhead collection but still need to build display cases. That will be my goal for the next Festival.

Did anyone else take pics they would like to share.

I really wanted to go this year but had too much going on at work.  Looks like a great time as always.  Hope to catch up with some TG'ers next year.

Is the banquet always in Jeff City now?  Have not been for several years but would like to next year for the 25th Anniv.  It was in Blue Springs when I first went and I think maybe it has been in a couple other cities from what I have read.  Thanks for any replies.

As you said, the first Banquet was held in Blue Springs. It was moved to Columbia the next several years and then to Jeff City so it would be centrally located as much as possible.

From the posts I've read, it sounds like you all had a good time. I know the Yanceys and Renfros are impressed by our group and that means a lot to me! It was great to see all of you that I got to visit with and I apologize to those that I didn't get to meet. Hope to see you this summer at the Rendezvous in Hermann, MO!
