Sadie and Caddy are arrow and rabbit hunting fools their owner is just a fool most times.

Bowhunting is a passion, not an obsession. Its just hard for my wife to tell the difference sometimes.

Knew I shouldn't have looked at this thread. My favorite (Val, Springer) saved me from a rattlesnake 10 years ago that killed her. Many here have lost dogs too. They're waiting in Heaven I figure.

AdKen, beautys! My flat coat retriever looks similar below. Saw some English Setters..,great dogs. Not a bad looking mutt in the bunch folks! Be proud & treat 'em right. Ron, that beaut has you spoiled!

Lablover, that pup on the right looks part Jindo! Do you know her lineage? I love that direct gaze.

Luke and Gabe

Toby was a Birddog. Yeh, that's a quail in his mouth. Best dog in the county. A canine athlete.
When a man shoots with a bow it is own vigor of body that drives the arrow,  his own mind controls the missile's flight......His trained muscles and toughened thews have done the work

Ron,
Your beloved breed, the beagle, just won second place in the hound group at the Westminster Dog Show. Family tradition for us, we watch it every year. Several years ago on opening night I picked the winner, a German Short Hair as soon as she walked in the ring. She won 1st place overall.

Your bird dogs are beautiful on point John. Toby pointing with the dead quail in his mouth is something most bird hunters will not see in their lifetimes. I have owned literally dozens of the pointing breeds and only owned one dog that did that and he did it many times.

I really enjoy seeing pics of dogs period. Dogs give unbounded love and are loyal to their dying day. We can learn a lot from them.
Time spent alone in the woods puts you closer to God.

Here is a picture of my killer....a Deutsch Drahthaar. She's only a year old and I am loving chasing birds with her so far. Shows some serious promise.

I had to buy a futon so Becki would have enough room to stretch out while she watched TV...
