Learn from this lesson and let it go. Guilt bad. Wisdom good.

laughing at ones self can cure most of the dumb things we do...BUT...useing a compound for anything but a boat anchor is almost to dumb to laugh at...but doable if you try REAL HARD!!!

A couple of seasons ago I had a really bad shoulder & convinced my doc & wife surgery could wait til after deer season. Well, I wasn't practicing enough & misse four shots at two deer. Came home so angry at myself. I called my buddy Ed & proclaimed it was nothing but compound for the rest of the season. Well, everytime I left the house I just couldn't do it. Hunted trad the rest of bow season. Never got another shot with the bow that year but took 3 with the gun. Got the shoulder fixed & 16 days after surgery was shooting ny recurve again. Doc told me 8 weeks but I could not wait. Like said, learn not punish yourself.

My first year hunting trad i missed every deer i shot at which was 3. I missed a nice buck because of a limb and then a doe with the remaining arrows in my quiver. I took my compund the next hunt and drew on a doe but couldnt shoot her because it just didnt feel right any more. I was shooting both compound and recurve at the time and desided it had to be one or the other so i sold the compuund and never looked back. Last year i took my first game animals with traditonal tackle. If im bowhunting it will be with a stick and string. Im not just addicted, its a part of life
