never shot woods before

hello,  recentlyi picked up a 1970'sbear grizzly i would like to try woods but dont have any idea spine or dia.  the griz is 45@28 58in long i draw 27 do i get 45-50 /50-55,/5/16-11/32 can anybody give me a starting point

I would go with 11/32 in the 60-65# spine There are some for sale in the classifieds from Mike Vines. Its a good deal.

Chub anything over 50-55 and your shooting an over spined arrow for that set up. The longer this post is up you’ll have people adding 5lbs in spine for everything including which time zone you live in

Wouldn't that change depending on the Head weight.Chub send me your addy and I will send you 2-shafts 60-65# and one with a 160gr head and one with 125 gr head and you can test them.

You are pulling aroung 42# at your 27" draw. I would go with a 29" bop arrow. With a 145 gr point or lower, and a B50 string I would say that 50/55 or 55/60 should work great out of that set up.

I agree with Danny. 50-55 spine with 125 pts. 55-60 with 145 pts.  11/32 diameter would be great.

I shoot 48# Bear Super Kodiak and I use 45-50 tapered shafts and they shoot great. They are cut 28.25 inches and I use a 125 grain head.
