A bit of a conundrum... Two bows, one longer with less weight, one shorter with more

I am picking between these two bows.

One is the 2011 Ragim wildcat TD, which is 70 inches but only comes in a max weight of #40

Our next candidate is the OMP Adirondack hunter. It's 68 inches, and comes in #40 to #55

Now, I have a 31 inch draw, and that is my problem.

Several people told me that I'm going to want a larger bow that way I don't have as much stacking and finger pinch.

I was leaning towards the Ragim, but then I found the OMP Adirondack.

I had wanted a longbow for a long time, but never found one that I could afford.

So here is my real problem.

Which do I go for? The one is two inches longer, but has a low draw weight.

The other is two inches shorter, but has a heavier draw weight, which I like.

Can anyone give me some input?

Add 2.5 to 3 lbs of draw weight for every inch of draw beyond 28 inches.  You can use this to get the bow weight you want when you order the bow.  40 lbs at 28 inches = 47.5 to 49 bs at 31 inches.  68 inches is plenty long for a 31 inch draw.

Both. Guarantee, you'll like the Ragim as you can add other limbs to your specs later. Call them & see. But, the Adirondak is a nice bow also. Ain't this fun?

I'll further add to your agony and say, if it were me, I'd be all over the MadDog Mutt longbow in that price range.

Andrew,  I too have a long draw and I think the 68" or 70" will work equally well.  I would also have to agree with Stumpkiller on the Maddog.  Although I have never shot the particular bow their is a uniqueness in buying a hand-built bow from a bowyer you can actually talk to that you do not get when buying a production bow.  Good luck with your decision...Shawn

Unfortunately, that bow is a little bit too much for me.

But it's definitely something I'm going to keep in mind for later on

The site I found the Adirondack hunter is charging 100 dollars for it.

Should I be concerned that they are charging so little?

I picked my Hunter deluxe for 213. I think that would be a good buy. I also shot three under with my Adirondack Hunter its isn't a bad bow at all. The only thing is mine is at 50# and I wish I had a little less to start with. As much as I shoot it wears me out fast.
