I had an 83#der once....Bought it from Denny Sturgis ...they are very much 'Hill Style'...mine had a straight grip...very well built.

I don't know much more about them.

John Kolometz was featured in the book Bowhunting Whitetail Masters.

It states he lived in Zainesville, Oh, like to shoot heavy longbows, 80-90lbs, and designed his after Dick Robertson's reflexed-deflexed profile.

And he's killed some big whitetails, too!

I remember Denny shooting one at the GLLI, back in the late '80s.

Wow I haven't heard that name in a long time.

I used to live a mile from John, about 10 years ago. Last I heard he still lived in Zanesville, but don't know if he still makes bows.

He did have some nice bucks on the wall.

To the best of my knowledge he dosen't make them very often or at all anymore I believe he's still in Zanesville he makes a very nice mild reflex deflex style I was given a 70#er as a gift and it's fun to shoot quiet as all get out.

He is making bows again still lives in zville at the same place. After he retired he has spent alot of time hunting and not much of anything else but has started building again. Just got a bow from him a few weeks ago and he is building even a better bow than ever and the price is still the same as when he was building in the 90s.

He is definitely making bows again. John was at the traditional shoot outside New Concord this year and had a display of bows up for sale.

I've got 2, a 67# that I don't shoot and a 63# that is on a diet as we speak, trying to loose about 5#'s.  How does one go about finding out what he's got available now?
