Help from Shrew owners

I have a Shrew on order.  I beleive it is due up in July.  Originally I planned on the Classic Hunter.  I know a lot of you folks own and shoot Shrew bows.  In reality I do not have a need for a short bow (56").  I am rethinking my decision and wonder if I should just purchase a standard (60")Shrew.  Can anyone articulate any other advantages to the Classic Hunter other than shorter length?

I have a 58" SS, a 56" CH, and a 54" CH.  I draw 27" and shoot the 58" SS as well as the 54" CH.  IMO length is the only difference.  The SS, having a bigger riser has a bit more mass to it making it a tad stabler.  They are all smooth.  I like em all.

I have a 58" SS but I have shot my pal Carltons 56" and a pile of 60"ers. They were all smooth. If a 60" satisfies you go with it. That 2" difference is nothing that youll notice.

It's up to you. I thought the short bows might be too short for me, but I found that I realy like them in the woods. To me, anything over 58" seems long and clumsy now.I have 2 54" Shrews, and they are my go to bows.

Izzy mine is 54. I think it is as smooth as any bow I've shot. The short length really comes in handy in a tight tree stand, a ground blind or just getting through thick stuff.

Dang Carlton,,, 54"? I recall it being a smooth little shooter and was surprised at how stable it was.

I think I can solve your problem, get 2!  I have a 58" SS that I love, but had to go lower weight.  Two weeks ago I received a 56" CH carbon/foam with beautiful Zebra veneers and a 54" Lil Fav. with Chameleon veneers.  Can't stop shooting both of the new bows and can't decide which one I like better!  Both are so smooth and stable and I love the shorter lengths.  Gregg did a beautiful job on both.  You can't go wrong no matter which way you decide to go.

I think all Shrews are great bows but I prefer the 60" SS with a bow bolt for added mass.  You'll have to try different ones and decide what you like.

I have a 54" 60# @ 28" in a Classic Hunter and a Super Shrew 60" 51# @ 28". Both these bows shoot very well with no stacking on the CH, I do find the CH is a lot easier to use when stalking in the diamond willows for whitetails or when in a tree stand.

I have 13 Shrews including a 60" Super Shrew and a bunch of Classic Hunters and Lil' Favorites. The SS is great, but the Classic Hunters are even better. They shoot as well or better than the SS and are much handier in tight spots. The CH is easily the most popular Shrew and outsells the other models several times over. That also keeps their value higher and makes them sell easier. If all those advantages are not enough, then get a SS. The SS is a great bow and I am glad to have mine; however, I would ALWAYS pick the CH if I could only have one Shrew.

The56" CH is a real smooth bow for the length no doubt!It wont stack in spite of the shorter length.Feels very similar to the 60" inch Super Shrew to  me.They are offering the Super shrew in 62 inches now I see.I bet thats a smooth shooter.The limb design is different on the 2 bows.

With the same materials you get a little more overall mass weight with the Super Shrew.Some guys may like that.With a bowbolt and phenolic or phenolic/wood  riser that might pretty nice if you want a tad more heft in the hand.

Looks like you got plenty of time to decide.Whichever you pick I am sure you will be more than happy

I have both 56"CH & 60"SS, tough decision, but I am slightly partial to my 60". I think its the mass weight of it, though there is only a few oz. difference it feels heavier.

Don't think you can go wrong with any Shrew.    I'm really liking my new 56" Classic Hunter though.
