Bowfishing East Texas, too early?

I have never really done this and wasn't really sure of when the action starts. Any thoughts?

You can do it now, but the best time is when the fish start to spon in the spring! Look around the shallows for fish movement, or go at night in a boat and use a bright light. What part of East Tx are you in?
