I found a good enough deal on a used Bob Lee 54" 40# bow that I bought one more or less on spec, thinking that it would be a good bow for my wife or grandchildren's hopefully future interest in shooting. I never thought I would really enjoy shooting it myself, but I liked it so well that I shot it in a 3D meet just to see how I would do. My draw length is 28".
Mine is one-piece, and while I haven't shot the takedown 54", my belief is that if you're going to be drawing the bow to the max, you're probably going to get a little more out leeway of the one-piece than you would a takedown.
It could be that one of the reasons I find this bow such a pleasure to shoot is because of its light draw-weight. I also think you would feel things like finger pinch more in a heavier weight bow than in a lightweight bow.
So even though my hope is that one of the grandchildren picks up on this bow, even if they don't, I have a bow I enjoy shooting myself, although not for my primary bow.
