The first custom recurve I ever ordered was a Lanham...maybe back in 1992? I thought it was a great shooting bow and was very similar in design to a Brackenbury, Blacktail and Wallace. All of these bows look to me like they are made off the same basic design, but I think there might be some connection between some of these bowyers and the late Jim Brackenbury?.
Anyway, I ended up missing four deer in a row with that bow...certainly not the bows fault but it got the blame anyway...and subsequently ordered a longbow from Abe Penner. I killed the first buck I ever shot with that longbow and it was straight sticks for me ever since!
I also remember talk of Rick having some health issues back in the 90's and to be honest, I didn't even know he was still building bows.
