leg gaiters

Looking for a source for leg gaiters for an upcoming elk hunt. Something quiet would be a obvious plus. Thanks.

Day One Camo has them in Predator and they are a damn good gaiter!

Snake gaiters? Own heavy Cordura but wear instead cheap plastic wrap arounds underneath the pant legs. Much lighter & easier to get on & off. Cooler too.

I have a pair from Cabelas and they have served me well thru many seasons.  My buddy has some he found discounted from Kenetrek(sp) and they are very well built and work good too.

I have both, regular nylon for weeds to snow, and Turtle Skin for snakes. Most outdoor, skiing, hiking stores carry the waterproof nylon gaiters.

Military surplus(coleman military surplus.com)has them I used them in the corps and loved them.

I have gone through a lot of gaitors and found none better that OR Crocadiles. They are not the most quiet. I have a pair of Sleeping indian wool gaitors that are nice but it needs to be really cold for those.

Sitka has a nice pair that is pretty quiet as well as Day one.

Kenetrek, but I don't use them unless I'm in snow. They aren't the quietest are are built well.

I've had a pair from Kathy Kelly Design for years.  They're fleece with nylon on the inside for water repellency.  Not quite as waterproof as my OR Crocodiles’ which I use in the snow or when it’s really soggy but good and quite most of the time.

I had a pair custom made with a waterproof fleece,. They are super quiet and keep me from getting soaked by high wet grass. However they have a downside. They pick up every seed and bur in the country.

Do they help with the tics and chiggers? I already picked 4 tics off my body in the last two days and it's not even warm yet.
