I received my Holm-Made Osprey today. (#5 in this thread,
http://tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=48;t=001441 I used the arrows I had on hand. 29.25" BOP, 190gn field point, total arrow weight between 605gn and 615gn, spined 70-75#.
A couple twists in the string to raise the brace height a hair, and I was putting the arrows in a 4" plate at 15 yards (normal for me, I have a lot of work to do). I usually shoot recurves, so shooting this longbow as well as I shoot my recurves so quickly was a pleasant and unexpected surprise.
I didn't chrono it, but there was no noticeable speed difference from my 60#@28" RER Arroyo. The most amazing thing to me was how quiet it was, simply no sound whatsoever. I swear I could hear the arrow going downrange, but not the release.
This just makes my anticipation grow since I have a Holm-made River Runner on order. If it is anything like the Osprey, I'll have another fantastic bow.
