Wright Firehawk Pass around bow

I got my turn with the Firehawk when it got here on Monday. I have not shot it as much as I would like, but my initial impressions are that I really like the bow A LOT. It is a style that I have looked at for a while, and the first time that I have seen or held one. I believe that it is 56#@28" and does not feel like it. It is very quite.

I am really looking forward to playing with it more in the next couple of days before I have to ship it a long to NM I believe.

I will post up some pictures tonight. As for putting it on a hog, I know that my arrows are not quite right for it, so I would not shoot it at an animal, but it is good enough for the backyard. I will make it up there with my other bow sometime.

The Firehawk just arrived at my doorstep, safe and sound.

Put about 20 arrows through it before dinner.....You know I hear often remarks about bows like "ya don't even need silencers on this bow"...I always was very sceptical about those type of claims.  

I am here to tell you, this bow is by far the only bow I have ever shot (and I have shot alot of them) that is hunting quiet without any silencers.  I pulled it our of the tube, braced it to the recommended height and flung arrows....fast, extremely quiet, and hit where I looked.  I could feel a touch of shock, but nothing of real note.

Will be trying it out some more through the week, but so far very impressed!

For the update as to where the Firehawk is,And  hope you take the time to enjoy the bow for a while,Any comments good or bad with be appreciated,The reason I sent the bow around was to get better known and to truly see what peoples opinions are of the Firehawk Longbow. So far the reviews have been positive.

I also make a 60''Firehawk recurve. Same shape with narrow limbs like the longbow.

I don't have the list in front of me, but thought I would give everyone a heads up that it will be headed out!

Really enjoyed my time with it, and had it been a few less lbs I would have shot it alot more as it was a real pleasure.  I have no doubt the next one on the list will be impressed!

Can't thank you enought Rodney for giving everyone this opportunity, if not for bowyers like you(and many others that have done pass-arounds), many of us would never have the chance to try certain bows.

For anyone that will be at the Longbow Safari In Calgary this year I will have a Firehawk with me for you to try. It is the one I reviewed a couple years ago, so all the specs are on the review.
 Viry nice bow that I enjoy shooting a lot.

Hey Guys,
I haven't been on Tradgang much in quite some time.  I got the Firehawk last Saturday.  I'll try to get a few pics up.

How's it shoot?  It's a very nice bow.  The only complaint that I have is that I'm used to shooting a 3-piece takedown with a more beefy grip.  The firehawk grip is small, for me.  I'm sure I could get used to it or have Rodney make one with a bit beefier grip than the one on route.

It's light.  Way light (physical weight, not draw weight).  Even my wife and kids noted, "wow, that's really light".

The bow draws a bit different than I'm used to.  My current bow seems to have a higher initial draw weight with less increase per inch draw than the firehawk.  That makes the firehawk feel different.  Again, I could get used to this.

It shoots and flings an arrow very well.  Easily as accurate as what I'm currently shooting at a much lower physical weight. It is quiet.....well as quiet as a bow's going to be with my hand plucking the string.  

Beautiful bow.  Shoots very well.  Very quiet.  My only issue is that I'm used to a different bow.  I'd probably ask Rodney to make a little beefier grip.

Tough to complain about a "pass around" bow that you're breaking nocks with.

I s'pose the real bottom line is....would any of us buy this bow?  That's the ultimate review.  If I were looking to buy a new bow, I would give this serious consideration.  If Rodney decides to let this one go as "used" after it's floated around the U.S. for 6 months or so, I'd certainly give him a call.

The Firehawk was lost for a while but thanks to Nathan,Who managed to track her down and get it to the next person in line who had a change of address.It is now in the hands of Dan Mead.The remaining Trad gang members to try the bow are Keith Sutton & Glenn Bedard.Then the bow will be returning home and I will see if any good luck or mojo rubbed off on her during her travels Moose hunting this fall.
