Hunting with the Bow and Arrow, Saxton Pope 1923
« on: March 18, 2011, 01:33:00 AM »
This book is free to download and can be read by anyone with a computer and free Adobe Digital Editions.  I have been reading it on my Nook.  Saxton published this in 1923 and did some very thorough empirical testing of bows, arrows and took the approach of a primitive archer.  Amazing book.  And the story of Ishi of course.

It is available on the Guttenberg site, but no pictures.  My own had copy original edition was free as well.  A guy stopped by and said ,"you shoot them old style bows, could you get some use out of this?"

It was the first book I put on my Sony Reader from Santa.  Check out epubbooks.com for free downloads.

No pictures in the "shareware" version of Pope's book, unfortunately

Great book, I bought it in paperback in 1973 and took it to college with me. Read it so much it fell apart.
