SOME ARROWS for the TROOPS
« on: March 21, 2011, 07:11:00 PM »
I wanted to make-up some arrows to send to Afganistan for the new range and was deciding on what fletching to use. I came across these new designs from Gateway and they seemed just right. Gateway calls them the "Patriot". Perfect. Then I found some wraps, also Perfect. Here's a few of the first ones I finished. I hope the guys get many hours of pleasure in sending them down-range. I'll be rounding-up some misc. gear to include and they'll be heading to their new assignment asap. God Bless our Troops and bring them home safe to us.

It will definately be appreciated by whoever gets to use them. I just wish that something like this was available a few years ago. Thank you Danny!

I'm going to try making some of those.  I have some ideas that just might work.

Jon, I was planning to send them to Sgt. Kirkendall for FOB Connoly. I should be able to round-up a couple gloves, tabs etc also. Sometime in the near future I'll send a Fletching Jig with feathers so they can maintain their arrows.

Dan,
Those arrows look awesome. They look so good that me and they guys are going to be reluctant to shoot them in fear of tearing them up.  Thank you very much for your support. It means alot to everyone over here.

Aaron, no problem about using them. I'll get a fletching Jig, wraps and feathers over to you within a month so you guys can keep your arrows " Clean, Dry, and Serviceable". Lol! That's one I remember from my days in Basic, long, long ago.

If there is anything in particular you are in need of let me know. If it's within my ability you'll have it. I'm about to do a Spring cleaning job on my boat (my home), and I'm sure I have some basic gear I couldn't get to when I sent stuff to Vern.

Stay Safe!
