Bags are packed broadheads are sharpened and My St Joe River Bow is ready to get some squeelers.

Best of luck. The red buds are blooming and the weather has been great. A little early for morrels but its getting close.

Best of luck and let us know how it turns out.  I lived in OK for 5 years and now live close to you in Grand Haven.  I can't make it down next week but next time you go PM me.  I have a lifetime hunting license in OK and would love to go.

I met Rob and his brother and dad in the local archery shop in Okmulgee,  Oklahoma today. Didn't know them from Adam...but knew right away we had something in common, because they went right to the longbow and recurve rack. And after talking, and looking and each other's bows, and me hinting, they let me tag along with them on their evening hog hunt. I saw a coyote, numerous ducks and squirrels but no hogs. Rob and I met up at dark and he asked me if I heard all the pigs. I was too far away, but Rob had seen about 40, and was able to shoot at a big boar but missed. They have a few more days to hunt -- hopefully, now that they have located them, they will be able to stick a few. I'm sure he'll have more to say when he gets back. But I wanted to mention how blessed and impressed I was with how nice and generous they were to let me join them today even though we didn't know each other.

Rob,

Welcome to Oklahoma. Born and raised in Okmulgee but am living in western Oklahoma now. Too bad you won't be here next week because turkey season opens on April 6.  Good luck on your hog hunt.

Pat's Archery is a pretty nice bow shop, too, I shop there each time I go through town.   I used to hunt the Deep Fork area and even though it's public land the place has a lot of game.   Be careful and watch the river; that thing is a killer and it's hard to get out if you get into it.
