what weight broadheads?

200 grain Abowyer brown bear with right hand single bevel.  Extremely tough easy to sharpen.  I took the glue on brown bear and added a screw in aluminum isert, but will probably transfer to titanium inserts.  I think the aluminum is the weak part of the setup.  I would love to have steel inserts but that makes them to heavy.  I have shot Wensel Woodsmans but they whisled when they flew.  Flew great but didn't like the hisss.  I want to try the new 200 grain screw in
VPA broadheads.

I generally build my arrows to use a 125 grain BH unless I have a specific need for a wider cut, getting my tune and FOC from insert weight and cutting the shaft.. That way I can shoot the Techno Hunt at the local shop on bad weather days.. It is like me not to miss a day of practice if I can avoid it..

If your local shop has one of these contraptions, you should try it… the thing is a blast.. and you get funny looks from the wheel guys…  :D

I have two bows that shoot different arrow setups from light to very heavy. So I shoot broadheads which weigh 125, 130, 145, 150 and 160 grains. This includes glue on as well as screw in.

I like the 125gr. Snuffers, but I also add weight behind my insert and end up with an effective weight of 198gr. up front. Mainly I stick with those because I like the way they fly and easy to sharpen, I also didn't want to buy all new broadheads. I could switch to 160's and get by with less weight behind the inserts, but it was an easy enough fix. You can shoot whichever broadhead you want to and adjust your weight behind the insert to whatever you need to get your spine right for your set up.
I recommend using Stu's calculator cause it was spot on for my set up, just get the values as close as you possibly can and don't fudge on anything by guessing. It works amazingly well.

I use a 260-290 head. A Zwickey Delta with a 125 steel adapter, and a 190 Grizzly with a 100 gr steel adapter

I have gone from 160gr back to 125gr to me it shoots better and that weight has been around for ever.If it's sharp and well placed it will do the job like it has for 30+ years. Keep it simple and enjoy the hunt then dabble in the tech stuff later.JMHO

125 grain Magnus Stinger(4 blade), with a 100 grain brass insert. But I am going to try Centuar Big Game heads With a 100 grain insert this year.
