So many choices...
« on: March 26, 2011, 11:28:00 PM »
I want to set up an arrow for next season with the following specs...
1) 32"+ shaft(I draw 31.5")
2) weight of at least 650
3) 20+ % FOC
I shoot a Toelke whip which draws 55 lb at 28 which equals    :help:

Is the bow cut to center?  If you want to use a lot of weight up front and it is cut short of center your going to have to use a lighter spine, not a heavier one.  When you work on HFOC and EFOC your going to find that the bending point of the shaft effectively shortens the shafts spine length and thus increases the spine.

I think you will find that full length Easton FMJ 500's will be a great choice for you.  I have a bunch of them and would be willing to send you some that have 100 grain brass inserts in them to try out.  If you like them we can talk.

If the bow is cut to center either 400 or 500 spine shafts will work for you depending on head weight.

I'm using the full metal jackets.  You'll love em and can easily get to you weight and FOC goals.

Ragnarok, I thought they only made the 75 grn break off brass HIT inserts.  They make a 100 grn?  Where can I get em?

I shoot a 62" whip with Ultra EFOC (32.5% FOC) 59# at 29" with 30" arrow. I'm shooting victory V-Force HV with 100gr insert and 350gr BH, total arrow weighs in at ~675grs.

I also have a lighter set-up for the same bow using same arrow but in .350 spine with 50gr insert and 300gr BH which weighs in about 100 grains lighter ~575gr.

BTW I shoot A&A 3.25" 3-fletch with turbolators

The quest to improve is so focused on a few design aspects & compensating for hunter ineptness as to actually have reduced a bow & arrow’s effectiveness. Nothing better demonstrates this than mech. BHs & speed fixated designs

chopx2- What spine are those heavier V-Force arrows? Also how does your Whip like the front heavy arrow?
