Help with my string building
« on: March 27, 2011, 02:43:00 PM »
Can anyone tell from the pic what I might be doing wrong? This is the second string I have done that this has happened to. The right side doesn't seem to be as tight as the left. Any suggestions?

Take the string of the bow and you can easily even out he twists in the loop.  When you build your next one, be careful to keep the twists tight as you make the splice.  It takes some practice but you will get it.

What moebow said.  Also, when I finish twisting the individual bundles for a loop, I put an extra 3-5 twists on the whole thing to tighten it up more before making the splice.  Big improvement compared to my earlier strings.

Keep after it. I made eight strings before I finally made one I would even put on my bow. Then I made a few more before I got one that I trusted to fly arrows with. Your doing great and all you need is practice. So keep after it you will get there.
