Deer season not getting here fast enough
« on: June 17, 2007, 04:49:00 PM »
Went to the lease this morning and checked on the deer activity by checking the game cam. When I got there I noticed that the brushy tails have chewed a hole into the top of the case. Got pics of three different little bucks and several does. 1 pig at night. Shell gonna post some picks a little later for me.  3 and a halfs months till season opens here in Texas....  :banghead:

Oh Yes! ... Deer Season! ... Kinda hard to think about that when it's 90 degrees outside today ...   :p   ...

But I do think about deer hunting every day ... It saves me from the pressures of the work place ... (I'd like about three inches of tracking snow now)

I saw a real nice 8 point buck in velvet last night. This kept me thinking about my "plan" for Sept 15th.

My mom is visiting so tonight we went on a drive during which we saw some nice bucks in velvet.

We also saw some young bull elk.

After I parked the truck, I walked down the drive.  On the way back a young bull moose looked around the corner of the house at me.  He was scratching.  I don't know who was more spooked!

Great night.

The Wisconsin bow season opens September 15. It will be here before you know it. The beauty of traditional archery is that there is ALWAYS some preparation to do. Making arrows, 3D shoots, making flint arrowheads along with the increasingly frequent shooting practice....

All in preparation for that moment of truth!!!

If the preparation was not part of the excitement.. we would all have switched to sighted compounds and releases a long time ago.

i LIVE in Alabama, so thats where i hunt...
our season opens on Oct 13 this year, and ITS ONLY 117 DAYS TILL THAT GLORIOUS DAY!!!

and from Oct 13 till Jan 31, you can shot two doe a day, or one buck one doe, with a bow ALL season (might be a little fine print in there but its close enough) and that includes gunseason too, we dont really care what you do down here, bring your spears too!
If its brown its down; thats my motto.
