This was totally MY fault.....
I did a bonehead move and left my beloved longbow strung in the van all day(in 85 degree Miami)prior to going on a turkey hunt.
When I saw it I was in shock! The bow didn't blow-up but the tiller on the top limb was about 3 inches, bottom limb about 8!
Upon closer inspection, the bottom limb
de-laminated. It lookes like the veneer(back) seperated from the core, and the first core lamination cracked. The belly core and veneer are intact(at least visibly).
I left a message with the bowyer(who is top notch)and he left me a message that it is probably shot.
Is there any hope?

Off to the classifieds to find a replacement.....we all have the ability to make mistakes, trust me, I know!!

My kohannah elite is still for sale... that would be a good replacement

JDunlap,
I'd truly take the crashed car over this any day(if you saw my van's exterior you'd know what I mean, lol).Lots of sentimental value in this one.

hawk22,

Wish I could afford it. That would be a heck of a replacement!Beautiful bow.

Ouch, that is a bummer.  Hope you are able to find a replacement soon.

One bow. One arrow. My ideal.

I've had some offers for loaner bows, I really appreciate it but I have a Kohannah Kurve to use.
I am looking for another longbow, though.
Thanks everyone.

PS the bow I wrecked is the one I'm holding on the cover of Bill Langer's new DVD,ouch!
By the way, it's his best DVD yet!

What longbow, weight/length/maker, etc, are you looking for?

Robert Honaker

Isn't Whip a bow doc?  I think it can be fixed.
