Turkey Wing in Freezer, Now What?

FIRST TIMER AT THIS, I had a Friend of Mine Freeze a Left Wing from his Turkey this Year. Do I let It Thaw out, whithout any Added Stuff? I have heard the Use of "Borax" Powder. Got some, not sure what to  DO  with it,But I Got Some!    
     "Oh Ye Turkey Wing Gurus" Can ya Help me out Please? Just Start Yankin' When it Thaws out?  :confused:  
  Any and ALL  Help Will Be  GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

What are ya planning on doing with it? If you are going to make fletching take a dykes or clipper and clip the primaries and secondaried off where the feather and quill meet. You don't need all that other stuff.

Yup then there's many a thread on wing bone calls you can look up. Keep your feathers in a ziplock!

It is easier to clip the feathers off close to the skin after you let the wing thaw, no need to pluck them out of the wing. Freezing usually kills the beetle larva that attack feathers but to be on the safe side, sprinkle a little borax over your feathers when you store them. I put mine in a walmart bag, sprinkle about a table spoon of borax over them and shake the back real well to make sure the borax dust gets to all the feathers. This works much better than moth balls and doesn't make your feathers smell.

You're on your way to all kinds of fun now, Shakes -     :D  
 I found some large (I mean like about a foot sq, or bigger) heavey duty Zip Lok bags I store my feathers in. I can't remember if some one sent feathers to me in the bags or if I found them at a yard sale or the flea market.There are also bags they sell blankets/linens in that should work too. Cedar wood chips in with feathers/furs helps too, without a stink.

I suggest thaw wing, pour very hot water on wing and the feathers pop out easily.  I think the hot water zaps the mites too. Save feathers for fletching. To make a wingbone call, cut bones on each end to expose marrow,  boil the wing until the meat is very loose, blow out the marrow while warm, remove as much meat and gristle as you can, then let bones cool. scrape off any remaining meat. Use high strength peroxide to whiten the bones.  Get artistic and cut off small sections of the bones at each end and keep fitting them until it looks good to you. expoxy or superglue in place. Practice until you don't sound like a sick seal.
